The CDC, as reported by WREG in the provided link, has issued a warning that mosquito, flea and tick bites have more than tripled the amount of illnesses in the last 14 years.

There are nine diseases that have been reported for the first time in the USA.

Bug bites pose a serious threat to our well being but many steps can be taken to avoid the bite. Remove standing water where mosquitoes breed. Treat flea infestations quickly. Check for any ticks after being outside, especially if you've been under trees. If you find a tick, save it to aid in identification in the event of an infection. Spraying the yard will reduce fleas, ticks and mosquitoes for up to 21 days. Be proactive and enjoy the outdoors safely.
